YouthTracker.net was designed in 2004 by Mark Alway the Director of Skagit Valley Youth Dynamics. After writing his first web-based software tool as a research project at the University of Washington in 1995, Mark was hired to begin educational software development at the University of Washington. Mark was the lead software developer on the nationally recognized Catalyst Project that serviced all students, staff, and faculty at the University with online educational tools.

Mark was an instructor at the Art Institute of Seattle for three years and has since been serving as an instructor for the University of Washington Educational Outreach program since 2001. Mark teaches courses in SQL, PHP, and database-driven Web sites. Mark also reviews course materials and edits online course documents for various courses.

In 1998 Mark became a volunteer with Youth Dynamics Adventures, an adventure-based ministry. After volunteering his summers with Youth Dynamics Mark felt God calling him into full time youth ministry with Youth Dynamics. In 2004 Mark moved to Mount Vernon, WA where he became the Director of Skagit Valley Youth Dynamics. Skagit Valley Youth Dynamics servers the communities of Burlington, Mount Vernon, and Sedro Woolley as a para-church outreach targeting the harder-core students in our communities.

One of the first things that Mark did was write YouthTracker.net as a tool for all Youth Dynamics communities to track their students, staff, and attendance. Since that time YouthTracker.net has gone national with various churches and ministries around the country using YouthTracker.net to track their students. YouthTracker.net has been upgraded regularly with new features and requests from our users. Our team strives to improving YouthTracker.net to make it the best available software for ministry.

YouthTracker.net is written as Perl CGIs and mod_perl modules. We use the leading open source database software and a leading hosting company that provides backup power systems, file backups, intrusion detection, etc. We have had 99% uptime in the last 365 days and strive to offer 99% uptime with our services.
